WARNING SIGNS OF A HEART ATTACK

Every second counts. Delays increase the likelihood and amount of heart damage due to low oxygen. Time is muscle. So get medical help as quickly as possible.

Heart attacks present a variety of warning signs…not simply chest pain. Warning signs include:

  • PRESSURE, SQUEEZING OR PAIN IN THE CENTER OF THE CHEST FELT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES OR MORE OR THAT COMES AND GOES
  • PAIN THAT EXTENDS TO ARMS, NECK, JAWS, EARS OR SHOULDERS
  • CHEST DISCOMFORT WITH LIGHTHEADEDNESS, FAINTING SWEATING, NAUSEA OR SHORTNESS OF BREATH
  • UNUSUAL TYPE OF CHEST OR STOMACH PAIN
  • UNEXPLAINED NAUSEA OR DIZZINESS
  • SHORTNESS OF BREATH AND DIFFICULTY BREATHING
  • UNEXPLAINED WEAKNESS OR FATIGUE
  • HEART PALPITATIONS, COLD SWEAT OR PALENESS
