Russell Arceneaux and Dee Thomas Named Lane 2021 MVPs of the Year

For the first time in Lane’s history, there is a tie for MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the Year!

Russell Arceneaux, RN in Lane Endoscopy Center, and Dee Thomas in Environmental Services, were named Lane Regional Medical Center’s 2021 MVPs of the Year. They were recognized for their dedication, outstanding work ethic, and customer service skills.

Russell is an attentive nurse and devoted co-worker. He is energetic, dependable, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Russell does anything and everything for those around him. Whether trouble shooting equipment, showing others how to use the electronic medical software, cleaning floors, or digging through trash after hours to find a patient’s lost jewelry, he pitches in to help without being asked. Russell has worked at Lane since 2006. He began his career as a registered nurse in the Telemetry and ICU units, then moved into the ER for eight years. He has been in the Lane Endoscopy Center for the past four years and continues to work in other areas as needed, such as the ER, Telemetry, and Medical/Surgery units.

Dee always has a smile on her face and in her heart.  She is dependable, never complains, and has a kind word for everyone. Her compassion and concern for patients, their families, and staff members is exceptional. It is evident she loves what she does, and often says it’s her calling to be a Housekeeper.  In fact, she sees her job as a ministry to help others. She often helps patients struggling with depression find positivity and to feel like they aren’t alone. When you walk into an area that Dee has taken care of, it always looks and smells wonderful. Dee has worked at Lane since 2006. She spent the first 14 years dedicated to the needs of Lane Nursing Home residents. She now works mainly in the Telemetry unit as well as throughout various areas of the hospital as needed.

Both Russell and Dee are true assets to Lane. As MVPs of the Year, they will receive 16 hours of paid time off and $1,000!
