Sometimes, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.
Datyrus Martin, a team member in the Lane Regional Medical Center cafeteria, is being recognized for a thoughtful act that touched the hearts of those around him. While working at the register, he noticed an older guest who mentioned she had trouble seeing. After helping her pay, Datyrus went over to the self-serve area, packed up her lunch, wrapped her utensils, and offered to carry everything to her car.
She thanked him and said she could manage on her own — but his kindness left a big impression.
“Datyrus didn’t have to help. He just saw someone who might need a hand and stepped up. That’s what we mean when we talk about our value of service — going above and beyond for others,” said Frank Corcoran, CEO of Lane Regional Medical Center.
Lane is proud to celebrate team members like Datyrus who make our hospital a welcoming and caring place for everyone.
