Free Tobacco Cessation Program at Lane Regional Medical Center May 1st

Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is hosting a FREE tobacco cessation informational seminar on Tuesday, May 1st, from 12-1p.m. in the West Wing Conference Room at Lane Regional Medical Center, 6300 Main Street in Zachary.  (BYOL:  Bring Your Own Lunch, Drinks Provided.)

Commit to Quit is a comprehensive program to help patients successfully quit the use of tobacco.  The Louisiana Smoking Cessation Trust has funds available for smoking and tobacco cessation programs.

Most, if not all, services are FREE, including:

  • Provider visits
  • Individual and Group counseling
  • Prescription and Nicotine Replacement Medications

It’s never too late to quit.  Giving up smoking quickly reduces the chance of developing cardiovascular disease, and within five years of quitting, the chances of having a heart attack are 50-70 percent lower for former smokers compared to current smokers.

Registration is required.  Please call (225)658-4587 to register.
