Lane Nurses Recognized for Excellence

Congratulations to Jason Landry, RN, and Jessica Miller, RNC-MNN, who received the “Celebrate Nursing Award” from the Baton Rouge District Nurses Association!

This award recognizes nurses for their dedication to the advancement of nursing practice and who excel in nursing, encourage professional development, and promote a positive image of nursing.

Jason is a registered nurse with 27 years of experience. As the lead administrative house supervisor, he is an advocate and mentor throughout the hospital. Jason is on a number of policy, procedure, and leadership committees, including hospital activities, environment of care, and emergency management. In addition to his daily responsibilities of staffing and bed assignments, he assists with maintaining Joint Commission standards, CMS regulations, and LDH requirements. Jason also plays an active role in medical staff updates and daily patient safety huddles.

Jason has completed national incident management systems training, haz mat training, and the LHA leadership development program. During emergency situations, he works closely with local law enforcement agencies, various coroner’s offices, and ambulance transport providers. Jason is also the main point of contact for local, state and federal bureaus, as well as for equipment and supply vendors, utility and communication providers, and hospital medicine and physician referrals. Jason is a past Lane Employee of the Month and consistently receives recognition from patients and staff for going above and beyond.

With more than four years of experience, Jessica is a certified maternal newborn nurse on the Labor, Delivery, Post-Partum, and Recovery unit and is a primary preceptor for new nurses. Jessica is an advocate for proper infant care and safety and works closely with parents to provide helpful information and education in support for their newborns. Patients, family members, co-workers, and physicians all speak highly of Jessica and appreciate her calm and professional bedside manner and nursing skills.
