Jason Gwyn Receives Celebrate Nursing Award

Lane Regional Medical Center’s Endoscopy & Infusion Center Director Jason Gwyn, RN, received the “Celebrate Nursing Award” from the Baton Rouge District Nurses Association on May 2. 

This award recognizes nurses for their dedication to the advancement of nursing practice and who excel in nursing, encourage professional development and promote a positive image of nursing.

Jason is involved in a number of professional development programs and is a leader and advocate for nurses throughout the organization on many levels.

He was an integral team member for establishing Lane Cardiovascular Center’s cardiovascular/cath lab services and coordinated Lane Endoscopy Center’s construction, unit set up and physical move into its new location inside the Lane Medical Plaza.  Jason helped develop the nurse orientation program, patient pre-admit program, and one of the hospital’s newer service lines, the Lane Infusion Center.  He was also involved with many of the shared governance councils that were instrumental in Lane receiving the Pathway to Excellence designation. 

Currently, Jason is working to establish chemotherapy services at Lane.

A native of Toronto, Canada and a resident of Watson, Jason is has more than 24 years of healthcare experience.  He is married to Zachary native Michelle Wesson, and they have two daughters, Karleigh and Jami.
