In a recent video tour, Dawn Fuller, Lane’s Director of Women’s Services, highlighted the features that make these patient rooms a unique combination of comfort, safety, and innovation.
The new patient rooms were designed with patients and families at the center. Each space is larger, allowing room for medical staff and loved ones to be present during the healing process. Two chairs with a center table convert into a pull-out couch, making overnight stays easy for family members. Walk-in showers, remote-controlled blinds, and a rolling bed table add convenience, while heated, touch-screen mirrors bring a touch of modern luxury to the hospital setting.
Each patient room is equipped with features that enhance patient safety, particularly for those requiring isolation precautions. An ante room and dual-door entry allow nurses to put on protective gear before entering and remove it safely afterward. This prevents contamination in hallways while ensuring that patients receive the care they need in a secure, comfortable environment.
Technology is built into every patient room to improve both comfort and care. Each space includes two monitors, one for patient entertainment and another dedicated to physician communication. Doctors can connect with patients virtually through the screen, making care faster and more accessible. Built-in cabinets with glove storage, needle boxes, and sinks keep medical supplies readily available, ensuring efficiency for care teams.
Lane Regional Medical Center’s new patient tower represents a major step forward for healthcare in Zachary. From spacious private patient rooms and advanced infection control features to expanded surgical suites and specialty care, the tower was designed to bring together modern medicine and compassionate care.
As Lane prepares to open the doors of its new tower, patients will soon experience the comfort and innovation of private patient rooms designed for healing, safety, and family support.
