Lane Regional Medical Center’s new Outpatient Diagnostic Center will celebrate its grand opening on Monday, June 22 from 4 - 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.  Located inside the Lane Medical Plaza at 6550 Main Street, next door to Home Depot in Zachary, the Outpatient Diagnostic Center is on the first floor and will encompass approximately 4,000 square feet. 

The Outpatient Diagnostic Center will feature more rapid outpatient registration and services for Lab, Imaging and EKG.  Services include blood draw, urine collection, drug screen collection, x-ray, CT scan, ultrasound, mammogram and bone density.

The $9 million Lane Medical Plaza totals 63,000 square feet and is the first three-story building in Zachary.  In addition to the Lane Outpatient Diagnostic Center, the first floor is also home to the new offices of Cardiovascular Institute of the South and cardiologists Charles Thompson, Peter Fail, Bart Denys, Anil Chargarlamudi, Clay Hammett, Vinod Nair, Deepak Thekkoott and Robert Greer. 

The second floor is currently under construction and will house several more doctors’ offices over a five-year period.  Dr. Keith Elbourne, OB/GYN is scheduled to move in July 2009, followed by Dr. David Rabalais, Orthopaedic Surgeon in September 2010.  The rest of the second floor will be completed as more physicians commit to office space.

Construction on the third floor is moving fast. Lane’s entire Information Systems Department will be moving this summer, and the rest of the third floor will remain a shell until future plans are finalized.
