History: An organizational meeting to establish a general acute care hospital in the northern part of East Baton Rouge parish was held in February 1957, and four months later, Hospital Service District #1 was created. When Lane opened in November, 1960, we were a 40-bed acute care not-for-profit hospital. Lane has continued to grow over the years by expanding facilities, updating technology, and offering new services.
Board of Commissioners: Lane Regional Medical Center is governed by a board of nine commissioners who are appointed by the Metropolitan Council of East Baton Rouge Parish.
Terms of members are four years:
Chairman of the Board: Dell Guerra, R.N.
Vice Chairman of the Board: Robert Williams, Jr.
Other members: James "Goose" Carroll, Pat Gauthier, Jimmy Jackson, Howard Martin, M.D., Richard "Andy" Sessoms, Jacqueline Snowden, and Mark Thompson.
